Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions (“Terms”) apply to online Events which are delivered by Reach Plc (company number 03890737) and members of its group (“Reach”). An “Event” may be, as examples, a hosted webinar, an online conference or tradeshow, or an online awards ceremony. References to “you” or “your” shall mean the individual or business entering or registering for an Event and references to “we”, “us” or “our” shall mean Reach Plc.

Event Administration

1. In order to register or enter an online Event, you must fill out the corresponding online event registration, entry or nomination form.
2. By entering or registering for an online Event, or otherwise submitting awards nomination details, you agree to these Terms and confirm that all of the details you provide to us are correct to the best of your knowledge. 

Your Data

3. Any data you share with us when entering or registering for an Event will be used for Event administration purposes only. All data you share will be kept private and held confidentiality. Where you have entered an awards Event or submitted awards nomination details, selected details will be shared with our carefully selected panel of judges in order to make their selection. Any such data we collect from you will be deleted within one year from the Event date.
4. We will not use the data we collect from you for any marketing purposes unless you give us consent to do so. Your data will not be shared with any third parties.

Event Cancellation

6. Reach reserves the right to withdraw or cancel any Event at any time. If the Event is cancelled or withdrawn for any reason (including because of any circumstances beyond its reasonable control or by any act or omission of any third party) Reach shall notify you of the cancellation as soon as possible and Reach shall not be in breach of these Terms by virtue or that Event cancellation or Event abandonment.
7. Reach is not liable for any delay or failure to perform any obligation to any Event registrant, awards entrant, applicant or nominee that is caused by any circumstances beyond its reasonable control or by any act or omission of any third party.

Awards Events and Awards Criteria

8. The paragraphs under this “Awards Events and Awards Criteria” heading apply if you are entering an Awards Event or otherwise submitting nomination details for an Awards Event.
9. Awards Events are free to enter.
10. Entries can only be accepted from businesses who base, or a substantial proportion of business, is based within the East Midlands.
11. Companies and organisations can enter in more than one awards category, providing that the specific application criteria is fulfilled. Separate and bespoke applications should be made for each award.
12. Entries must be received no later than the deadline shown on the applicable Awards Event website. Reach will have no liability for entries lost or delayed in transmission.
13. Third parties can make applications on behalf of businesses or individuals, providing the business or person nominated is aware of the entry and has approved the content in the application form.
14. Event sponsors are not permitted to enter the awards category which they are sponsoring.
15. Other awards criteria may apply for a number of the award categories; see each award for details. Where stated in the awards criteria, entrants must supply financial information as requested on the entry form. If the entry does not include this information it will become invalid. Entrants will need to make available whatever additional relevant information is required by the judges to assist them in reaching a decision.
16. All awards Event entrants must declare whether they, or the business they represent, are or likely to be involved in any dispute or judgement that could in any way significantly interfere with the proper conduct of the Event or the reputation of Reach and the organisers of the awards Events. Reach reserves the right to refuse any such entries.
17. We may consider your nomination in a different category or for different awards produced by the Leicester Mercury if the research team or judges decide it is appropriate.
18. After the closing date, the judging panel will complete a shortlist of two to three finalists for each awards category. The judging panel will decide the overall winner of each category. The shortlisted candidates will be invited to the awards Event. The judges reserve the right to merge or split categories if the volume of entrants warrants this.
19. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into before or after judging. The Editor of Leicester Mercury reserves the right to overrule the judges’ decision, should it be deemed necessary in the circumstances.
20. Reach and the event organisers reserve the right to change judging deadlines should circumstances necessitate.
21. Awards are non-transferable.
22. Reach reserves the right to publicise the results (including the names of any winners or nominees) of the Awards Event and use winning entries in press releases and published case histories. Accordingly, it is a condition of entry that Awards Events participants will cooperate with the media in relation to any such publication or Awards Events marketing material.
23. Awards winners may refer to the Awards Event in their own publicity material, following prior approval by Reach and the organisers of such material. Reach may provide instructions as to how Awards winners may display any Awards Events marks or marketing material, which the winners and entrants agree to comply with. Reach will not approve any publicity material which is offensive, obscene, derogatory in nature or defamatory to any third party.

General

24. Reach reserves the right to amend or update these Terms at any time to comply with law or meet its changing business requirements without notice to you. Any updates or amendments will be published on the applicable Event’s website.
25. Under no circumstances shall Reach be liable to you or the organisation you represent for any of the following, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise: any indirect or consequential losses, loss of revenue or anticipated revenue, loss of savings or anticipated savings, loss of business opportunity, or loss of profits or anticipated profits. Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or restrict Reach’s liability for death or personal injury resulting from the negligence of Reach.
26. No third party shall have any rights to enforce any of these Terms pursuant to the Contracts (Right of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise.
